FAQS

Where do we meet?

We meet at your local hotel or residence and begin the cruise from there (we will drop you off at the same spot or a destination of your choice). You’re on vacation! Let us take care of you and show you the beautiful a’ina

What time does the tour start?

Our guides will pick you up at your hotel / residence at 8 am. For half days or special circumstances the start time can be adapted to fit your needs.

What is door to door service?

Door to door service is one of the ways we want to go the extra mile for you. This means we will pick you up and drop you off at your hotel / residence. If you have plans for dinner or feel inspired to continue the adventure we can drop you off at a destination of your choice.

What animals will we encounter?

One of the specialities of the Hawaiian islands is the unique safety of the jungle. The jungle is scattered with diverse and beautiful wildlife. Butterflies, fish, whales in the winter season, and deer are only a few of the animals we could see on the island. The birds will serenade us most of our journey and it is not uncommon to see a few Honu (turtles) at the beaches. The most “dangerous” creatures we could encounter are the highly revered centipede and the wild boar. The centipedes are majestic and the chances of seeing one is slim. The boar tend to keep to themselves as well and if we happen to encounter one, trust your guide will keep you safe.

What type of equipment will we need?

The jungles of Maui are luscious and rainy. In order to have the best trip possible we encourage our guests to be prepared. We provide gear such as headlights for spelunking (exploring caves), and ponchos for the rain.  We also include reef safe mineral sunscreen (to protect the land) and bug spray. Bring a bathing suit if you want to swim and shoes that are comfortable for hiking. It is always nice to have an extra pair of dry clothes for the ride home!

Is food provided?

We will have snacks and water for you in the car. There are plenty of places to stop and grab delicious food on the way including the world famous banana bread, fresh local caught fish, and fruits grown in the same jungles we will be cruising through ! The food is phenomenal (even Gordon Ramsay visited the road to Hana).

What is the weather like?

Mostly every day on Maui ranges in the seventies. The jungle is a pleasant combination of rain and shine. We can have moments sunbathing on the beach or hiking through the rainy backcountry. The weather is versatile and every day is unique and special.

How long will it take to get to Hana?

Every tour is personally customized to each group. Beginning from mile 0 on Hana Highway is about an hour and a half to a two hour journey to Hana with no stops. Considering that we will be stopping to explore and eat and create whatever experience you are looking for, the drive typically takes four to five hours to get to Hana. Once in Hana we have the option of driving all the way around the mountain or turning around and coming back the way we came.

What is your cancellation policy?

If you decide to cancel within the week of your tour date then our fee is $100. If the tour is canceled within 72 hours we will charge 20% of the total cost.

What days can we schedule a tour?

The only day we take off is Sunday! Book any other day of the week.
